Projects & Workshops
Photography workshops for young people are a great way for aspiring photographers to learn the basics of photography, develop their skills, and gain hand-on experience.
At Donna Lawson Photography we design our workshops to be fun and engaging, to make learning about photography an enjoyable experience.
We work directly with youth groups, charities and schools to customize workshops so that participants get the most out them. They can be fun and artistic creative projects, or focused on developing technical skills, such as composition and lighting.
We cover topics including:
- Photography genres: Exploring the different genres of photography, such as portrait photography, landscape photography, macro photography and more.
- Creative projects: An introduction to fun and highly creative projects such as paint splash photography and balloon pop photography.
- Composition: Understanding the principles of composition, such as rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing, to create visually appealing photographs.
- Lighting: Exploring various lighting techniques, including natural light and artificial lighting, to control mood and atmosphere of photos.
- Camera operation: Learning how to use different camera settings, including aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, to achieve desired photography effects.
- Post-processing: Introduction to photo editing software and techniques to enhance and retouch images.
We also love project work, whether it’s to document your projects or enhance an existing workshop by incorporating photography. either way, we love to be involved. Some examples of the projects we’ve worked are in the galleries below.
